2 ecological restauration solutions
to save young marine animals
Riverside and coastal areas are increasingly affected by human activities. many young fish and invertebrates inhabiting these shallow waters are faced with a lack of natural habitat. Hence, the need to take action!

ECOCEAN PRESENTS
2 complementary solutions to repopulate the sea.
-
Solution n°1
CAPTURE & RAISE OF MARINE POST-LARVAE THEN REPOPULATING OF JUVENILES IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.
Before the post-larvae arrive on the coasts (often artificial), professional fishermen, partners of the project, collect them at sea, then hand/entrust them over to specialized (scientific) farmers who will grow them for 5 to 6 months to a size of about 7-8 cm. During the repopulation in the wild, these pre-grown juveniles will be able to avoid the predators’ mouths.
With the BioRestore repopulation solution/program, 25,350 fish of more than 75 species have already been repopulated in the Mediterranean Sea to date.

Solution n°2
CREATION OF ARTIFICIAL NURSERIES TO ACCOMMODATE YOUNG ANIMALS.
Faced with the obvious lack of natural habitats within the artificial maritime infrastructures, marine biologists have developed habitats playing the role of nurseries (shelter and food). Biohuts are placed at the ports entrance and welcome all year round/long the young marine animals that naturally come to settle on our coasts. Thanks to the Biohut, they can find shelters for a few weeks to avoid predators before returning to the natural environment, bigger and stronger.
1,590 Biohut are currently installed in the French Mediterranean Sea and protect more than 100 species. These Biohut are 100% recyclable, made of steel, wood, and filled with a natural biodegradable substrate (oyster shells)
